heaters and being sick
So, it would seem my husband and I are looking at replacing our furnace... fun fun. When we bought the house a few months ago we knew the heater was old, but didn't think much of it. As the weather has turned cold, we've been complaining that it does not feel like it heats efficiently. We finally decided to have a guy come out and look at it and he confirmed that we should replace it, but worse than that, it needs replaced ASAP as it is not safe to run. Blah.... So I've been spending the day calling around to try and get some quotes as the one they gave us seems outrageous and overpriced.
On top of that, I feel like I'm getting sick... Minor sore throat, headache - ugh! I did manage to make it through my workout at the gym though, so that was nice. We'll see how I feel tomorrow if I go workout on Wednesday.
In other news, I finally told the in-laws about my band. I had this done in February but have not seen them since then so we never told them. They seem supportive enough but you can still tell they are a little curious. Yesterday mom in law made chicken soup - she was very curious that I insisted i could not eat it. First off, it has noodles, I don't do noodles. Secondly, I still stick very strict to no liquids and solids at the same time. I explained on this to them. Then at dinner, we went to an expensive seafood place. Neither hubby nor myself eat seafood, so there was only a few options on the menu for us. I could not see ordering a $30 steak that came with a 6 oz piece of meat, a potato, veggies and a salad. I would end up leaving 3/4 of the food on the plate. So, hubby and I decided to share. the in-laws were a little shocked that we were going to share a plate. I diffused the situation quickly by pointing out that everything on the menu was just way too much food and I would be eating leftovers for days if I ordered anything and it just made more since for me to eat off hubby's plate. The server was very nice about it and had no problems with us sharing a plate. Sometimes when hubby and I go out I'll order my own plate and bring home leftovers as they make a nice breakfast or lunch for me at work, but this time around it just did not make sense. There was also nothing that sounded good to me on the appetizers menu or I would have done that. Oh well, sharing works and hubby does not mind.
